CLP Programs

Creating community change career pathways that offer certificates and degrees in community leadership, development and organizing, along with community-based work experience.

About Our Programs

Building Pathways Into Community Change Careers.

CLP’s Programs are partnerships between community colleges, public four-year colleges and universities, community leaders, and nonprofit organizations that offer unique academic credentials. These academic credentials include certificates and degrees in community leadership, organizing, public and community health, community planning and economic development, clean energy planning and development, and community change career pathways that provide critical services to low-income immigrants.

Along with academic credentials, students gain work-based learning experiences and mentoring that helps them navigate educational and career pathways toward becoming a community change agent.

Our programs prepare students to become leaders and community organizers who can effect transformative change with and for their local communities. Our programs empower students to become agents of change in their local communities by providing them with educational opportunities, paid work-based learning opportunities, critical supports, mentoring, and leadership development opportunities. CLP’s growing national network currently includes programs in seven states: California, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, and Utah.
